Veuve Fourny Grand Reserve Brut Premier Cru

93pts (Vinous) The Brut Grande Réserve 1er Cru is powerful, but also a touch austere, some of that coming from the 20% Pinot Noir in the blend, which adds structure and textural intensity to a core of Chardonnay fruit. Dried flowers, herbs, mint and cherry pit nuances all develop in the glass. The Grande Réserve is a bit less immediately charming than some of the other wines in the range, but it, too, has a lot to offer. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2018.
