Domaine du Bouchot Pouilly-Fume Terres Blanches 2024
Terres Blanches takes its name from the soil and that ground lands straight in the glass. Lemon blossom and crushed seashell on the nose, white peach on the palate, a long saline finish.
The 2024 is fresh and ready, built for a long lunch outside with grilled wahoo or ceviche.

Magnum of the Month
Château Camensac 2005, in magnum. A Haut-Médoc from one of Bordeaux’s great vintages, now comfortably mature. Dark plum, blackcurrant, and cedar on the nose, with cigar box, dried herbs, and the gravelly earth that marks the appellation.
In magnum, the wine ages more slowly, so this bottle is more complete and more harmonious than the standard format, with years still ahead of it. The one to open for a slow dinner and something off the grill.

Domaine du Bouchot
This Saturday’s tasting is a single producer – same grape, same hands, three stories in the glass. Three Pouilly-Fumés, all Sauvignon Blanc, each grown on a different soil.
Antoine Gouffier farms Domaine du Bouchot on the hill above Saint-Andelain, where his family, the Minets, hold neighbouring vines.
Caillottes 2022 – pure white limestone: bright, flinty, saline and linear. Terres Blanches 2024 sits on Kimmeridgian marl packed with fossilised oyster shells, all lemon blossom, white peach and a long saline finish. MCMLV 2023 is the flagship – grapefruit, smoky flint, crushed stone, a tense bone-dry close.
