Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir 2024
Cristom was founded by Paul Gerrie, an engineer with a passion for the wines of Burgundy. The Mt. Jefferson Cuvée is Cristom’s calling card, named for the Cascade peak visible from the winery.
It pours bright and lifted. Cranberry and wild raspberry first, then the savoury side: forest floor, bay leaf, a little spice off the stems. Fine acidity, gentle chalky tannins, a finish that holds. This is textbook Oregon Pinot at the top of its class.

Château Camensac 2005, in magnum. A Haut-Médoc from one of Bordeaux’s great vintages, now comfortably mature. Dark plum, blackcurrant, and cedar on the nose, with cigar box, dried herbs, and the gravelly earth that marks the appellation.
In magnum, the wine ages more slowly, so this bottle is more complete and more harmonious than the standard format, with years still ahead of it. The one to open for a slow dinner and something off the grill.
