Fefiñanes Rías Baixas Albariño 2024
Fefiñanes holds a singular place in the history of Albariño. In 1928, the winery, set inside a Renaissance palace on the main square in Cambados, became the first to bottle the grape as a single variety and label it by name.
Six months in stainless steel, no oak involved, just the purity of the fruit and the terroir shining through.
The 2024 is all about sea air and citrus blossoms. Lime zest, white peach, a saline snap that tastes like its home on the Galician coast. Crisp, mineral, alive.
$28 a bottle. Three or more, $25.20 each.

Magnum of the Month
Château Camensac 2005, in magnum. A Haut-Médoc from one of Bordeaux’s great vintages, now comfortably mature. Dark plum, blackcurrant, and cedar on the nose, with cigar box, dried herbs, and the gravelly earth that marks the appellation.
In magnum, the wine ages more slowly, so this bottle is more complete and more harmonious than the standard format, with years still ahead of it. The one to open for a slow dinner and something off the grill.
