Olivier Riviere is a renowned French oenologist who came to Logroño to work with Telmo Rodríguez in his La Rioja project. He already had a long career, studying in Bordeaux and working in wineries in the area. He then went to Burgundy to work with Domaine Leroy, one of the most important wineries in the region cultivating biodynamically.
Until 2012 Olivier Riviere purchased all the grapes from winegrowers in the area. In this same year he acquired two small plots in Rioja Alavesa, located at an altitude of around 500 meters. 1.5 hectares, planted with vines that are over 90 years old.
Olivier Riviere currently produces La Rioja, Navarra and Arlanza wines, managing to convey, all the features of the terroir honestly, with al the expression and authenticity of the variety.
Las Viñas de Eusebio is a wine made with Tempranillo from three of the winery’s own 15 year old vineyards located in Laguardia, at an altitude of 700 meters, on chalky and sandstone soils.
Harvesting is carried out by hand, selecting the grapes in the vineyard. Once de-stemmed, the grapes are fermented in open concrete tanks with native yeasts. The aging is 14 months in fudres and 7 months in tanks. It is bottled after a very delicate filtering.
