The majority of the Drappier vineyard is located around Urville, where Pinot Noir, the predominant grape variety, finds its best expression and allows the production of very elegant, aromatic wines such as the Carte d'Or cuvee.
They are considered one of the finest boutique champagne producers in the world and their cellars where they store the wine, are among the oldest and most extensive in Europe and also were the only cellars that weren't damaged during the two world wars or the fires that raced through the area in the 1950s. Drappier also cultivate forgotten and nevertheless unforgettable grape varieties: Arbane, Petit Meslier and Blanc and are also known for using low quantities of dosage and extremely limited use of sulphites highlighting the multifaceted aspects of their terroirs and wine-making.
