The 2009 is a blend of, more or less, equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan. After blending in 2012 the wine spent a further year in French Nevers oak barrels. The Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant element in this vintage which can be seen in the minty and tobacco notes to be found. The rich black fruit flavours also have hints of smoky, earthiness. The balance of acidity and tannins are spot on an lead to a long, dry finish.
When to drink:Bottled unfiltered and unfined it is suitable for vegans. Try with roast lamb, or mature cheese.
